The Waldo County Best of the Best ballot is available. When filling yours out might I ask that you consider voting for Midcoast iPhone Repair if you have had pleasant dealings with me in the past?

I understand this is basically a popularity contest, but coming out on top is a great way to make even more people aware of the services that I provide in the trust that my customers can put in me.

And regardless of who you vote for and whichever category, thank you for taking the time to read this plea!

So I believe it’s important to be honest and authentic so here goes. This is been one of the slowest weeks at Midcoast iPhone Repair since I have been a legitimate business.

I am very quick to post my successes and excitement at the growth of the business, but there is a flipside to it and that is an oppressive anxiety that can overtake me when things are slow.

I remind myself that it’s winter, when things are usually slower anyway. And that probably next week I’ll do enough business for this week and that week put together.

But I never really know for sure, and for someone whose financially viability depends on the success of this enterprise, it can wear on me kind of hard.

So there you go. a little look under the hood and maybe something a business should not post about itself.

Update! Finished strong that week and business has been fantastic since. I have to remember to not freak out with small sample sizes. Thank you all for your kind words and support!

I just last week got this iPad screen replaced by a guy who lists his services on eBay. I strongly suggest you start that too...it opens up your clientele to the entire country.

February has been historically hard for me personally. I don't know if its solely financial or a combination of finances and seasonal. Hang in there, if there's ONE thing going for you it's this: People break phones. That, and your long standing local business reputation for quick and reputable service... You got this. 💪

Good for you Buddy! BTW? Do you also do iPad screen replacement? I have an A1550 which wants sorting.

Before I had a regular schedule, I worked per diem in a hospital. It was nice to know I'd have holidays off, etc. But not nice at all when there weren't enough patients for them to need me. I'd find myself thinking, I hope there will be more sick people soon. Which is just terrible, really. But the checkbook wants what it wants. Ha.

I've got about 10 gadgets that no longer work, full of photos and videos that will keep you busy! Do you do that kind of thing, get into a broken iPad and save the memory, same w old laptops, etc? I've procrastinated SO long Idk what cam even be retrieved or not.

We ALWAYS recommend you at US Cellular. You should just have a box of your business cards shipped to us at least 2-3 times a year!

On the plus side, I met your mom and she said you’ve never had a cavity! 😉 Hang in there! I recommended you to a room full of interested people.

I’m always recommending you!! Hope it turns around for you!!

My dad always tells me you got to look at it month to month. This winter is brutal, taxes coming in soon buddy. Great business guy you'll be slammed again in 2 weeks and laugh about this.

Well, personally I'm glad it is slow because my son and I need to come in with his 5C for a possible diagnostic and battery replacement on Tuesday when you are back! Left you a voicemail! And I am DELIGHTED there is repair in the midcoast....the guy at the Verizon franchise store in Rockland told me about you.

Question of the day (this one, anyway!) My phone won't back up, something about cloud full. I did read about putting potos on computer, and that's about as far as I understood!!! I have MacPro, iPhone and mini iPad. With all this fancy junk, can you help me???

Wondered if I should post this, but very glad I did. Thank you so much for your support! By the way, Friday was an encouragingly excellent day. My life is never as bad as I sometimes feel it is. I have a lot to be thankful to God for. ❤️

That problem is always the hardest part of being self employed. Some times there's more work than you can handle and some times you wonder if work will ever come in. And it's even worse in the winter, when things such as heating costs so much more. Cheers to you for bringing light on the topic that most want to keep so quiet.

I know you will get through this period. You perform a great service! I highly recommend your business.

You are the best at what you do. Hopefully March is better to you.

I love your honesty and your business. I always recommend you when someone asks. Hang in there!

We know this waiting thing... ⛳️. Also I have work for you... just struggling to get there! We must meet up soon

There is not one business, other than accounting firms, that have good Februaries. People are still paying off Christmas, working on their taxes or going on spring break. You are not alone

I love that you're being so honest about this, and publicly! Financial security is a serious concern for entrepreneurs, it's refreshing to see someone talk about this so openly. So many businesses in Rockland shut down because they can't make it through the winter, but if you have a strong local customer base it makes a huge difference!

You are an awesome and professional person and provide a great service. Hang in there, this is a slow season. Spring will bring flowers and more customers!

I was just talking about you to a few people the other day. Hopefully they stop by soon!!

You should go out and break some people’s phones

Just a reminder that we need to all do our part to help out other local businesses during the "slow" time of the year as much as we can...even if it is just by sharing a post :) Hang in there and stay positive!

Midcoast iPhone Repair and more

Check out the work of my friend Jeremy Grant and his videography at The Timber Cross. Jeremy has been producing professional videos that celebrate the beauty and activity of the great state of Maine.

Makes me all the more pleased to have a business in this uniquely wonderful area.

The Timber Cross
Amazing weekend in Midcoast Maine! I had the chance to partner up with MidCoast Maine on this video! They set me up for a day of history, ice and food! I started my day with traditional ice cutting at the Thompson Ice House Museum. A skill that dates all the way back to 1826! It's an amazing experience. People from all over the world come out, grab a saw and get to work! Next I headed over to Odd Alewives Farm Brewery to listen to some amazing local music and eat some fresh local oysters. I met some incredible people there! Not to mention the breathtaking views from Pemaquid Point, Maine. Make sure to give this video a like and a share and lets get more people out enjoying Maine! >In July make sure to head over to the Ice House for some homemade Ice Cream! Made with the harvested pond ice!!!< Until next time, Go discover something awesome! #godiscoversomethingawesome

iPhone 7 run over by heavy machinery. Screen demolished, LCD inoperable and frame bent. Fortunately, logic board was undamaged. Installed the board into a new frame, replaced the screen, and now it looks and works well again.

The only troubleshooting solution at many cell phone providers for a dead or failing phone is to purchase a new one. Hogwash!

Often proclaimed to my customers with bad batteries is that they cannot be replaced. Hogwash!

Truthfully, most smartphone manufacturers no longer make battery change a DIY operation for the consumer, but I replace hundreds of iPhone batteries each year and even some on the Samsung Galaxy (pictured below).

On this recent battery replacement of a Samsung Galaxy S6 (as with most Galaxy’s), the glass back must be slowly and carefully removed. Due to its fragile composition and abundant adhesive, much care must be taken.

After the back is removed, the screws are as well and the back of the frame set aside. The battery itself is held down with strong adhesive, but light heat and careful negotiation around the phone’s LCD will remove the old battery and leave the new one ready to be installed.
